So many distractions :)

Parents always say that studies are the most important thing. And then they teach you how to ski and bike. And then they say: good idea, you should go study in Europe!

Then your fucked because your supposed to study in Europe and all you do is skiing and biking ..........

Dammit, this life rocks !

Mamannnnnnnn.... C'est finiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Et oui la saison de ski est presque terminée :( Les montagnes sont encore très enneigées mais il n'y a plus assez de gens pour rentabiliser les forfaits à ce temps de l'année. 

La semaine dernière, moi et 6 de mes amis avons pu louer un appart vraiment pas cher dans la plus haute station d'Europe; Val Thorens. Val Tho c'est 3200m d'altitude avec un village à 2300m. J'avais skié la station quelques fois auparavant étant donné que ce n'est pas trop loin de Courchevel, qui a fermé le 28 avril. Nous avons eu du ski de printemps magnifique et des soirées bien arrosées. Que ce soit un bon souper steak-saumon ou l'apéro dans les multiples bars de la station, nous avons apprécié chaque moment. 

Jamais je n'aurais cru skier autant cet hiver ! C'est incroyable. La fatigue se fait sentir mais bon, il restera peut-être un peu d'énergie pour du ski sur les glaciers cet été. Aujourd'hui, j'ai fait deuil de ma saison de ski en assistant au carnaval de Lausanne. La parade était plutôt amusante. Nous avons ensuite clôturé la journée avec quelques matchs de beach volleyball. Et oui. ca fait déjà plusieurs semaines que j'alterne ski dans les alpes et volley sur les plages du lac léman. J'adooore. 

Et voilà, c'est ce que je fais de ces temps ci !

Weather has been rough lately ... Only good thing is that we still have powder skiing :)

The only thing I can say is that I'm really enjoying the freeriding I've been doing this April. There's still so much snow its unbelievable ! Anyws, here's a few pics ;)

Visibility in Zermatt was so poor we couldn't see 10m ahead... Snow was so deep we couldn't see our feet ;)

We had an awesome w-e in Zermatt. For those who never heard of it, Zermatt is the most famous ski resort in Switzerland, mostly because of the Matterhorn mountain (4500m). Unfortunately, it snowed all week so we didn't get to see any mountains. But skiing was unreal !!!

We skied on the glacier at about 3500m and we shared an amazing tomato fondue in a chalet we rented with some friends from school. Its still snowing a lot in Europe so I'm looking forward to some more great skiing. Take a look at the pow-pow :)

Easter freeride skiing ... Good thing I stayed in Courchevel this week :)

Hey hey 

It has been an awfully long time since I blogged ... Not that I didn't want to but I ran out of time lately. Its the first week without skiing since December and its hard. There's still a lot of snow but I stayed in Switzerland this week because of school constraints. I was doing a preparation class to pass my PMI exam, which is a project managing certification. I'll do the exam later in May :) Plus I had many projects to work on during the w-e. 

I still took time today to go to Montreux, a cute city about 20minutes from Lausanne. I relaxed on the side of the lake and took some time to get back to one of my favorite hobby: drawing. I've been neglecting my drawing in the last few years and I need to get back into it before I start a Design Masters in Milan ;) Hahaha I'm working on some new international long term plans lately and planning some more studies in Euroland. 

We'll see what it leads to. Here's a few pics of Montreux and the ROLEX Center where I study. This futuristic learning center is located right beside my place. Its pretty awesome to study there sitting on huge beanbags.

My training is going extremely well; I'm probably skiing the best I ever did. The thing is that in the three races I did this year, nothing went well. I scored some really really bad points and couldn't focus on my new skiing witch is pretty fast. I have to say after two year without racing and only a few races this year, its gonna take a few more events so I can get back in racing mode. Still didn't race Slalom but I'm looking forward to it. I really trust the huge changes we made in my technique and I'm confident about my speed. Lets see what the next races in Morzine are gonna be like :)

It feels like summer in Bozel !

There I am skiing in Courchevel again ... Everyday we ski in above zero temperatures with an omnipresent sun ! Its awesome but the snow is melting a bit too fast :( Well at least now that the snow melted we can easily go run on the trails after skiing... Summer must also be pretty nice here.

Having fun & working hard !

So as most of you know, Its been more than 2 weeks I started my classes in Lausanne, Switzerland. The school campus is pretty incredible ! There's a lot of green spaces and sports infrastructure. But the best thing about it is the Lake. We are right on the side of the Europe's biggest lake. Half of the Leman Lake is in Switzerland and the other one is in France. It's crazy how we can see the French Alps on the other side of it. 

Although the place is awesome, I've been struggling with my course selection. Its been two weeks I keep changing my schedule but I think I finally found one that'll be pretty sick ! I have school from Monday@1pm to Wednesday@12am so it's easy for me to ski 4 days a week in Courchevel, France. The classes are way more interesting than the ones I had in Grenoble. This semester I'm taking:

Service's Marketing
Project Management
International Tourism Economics
Swiss Planning Systems

I'm running on a pretty intense schedule with all the traveling from Switzerland to France, the skiing and the insanely long days at school; but its all pretty fun. I really can't complain at all :)
